Introducing the new Superb iV

The Superb iV is the first Škoda model to feature plug-in hybrid drive. With two hearts beating under its bonnet, the Superb iV features a plug-in hybrid drive that delivers system power up to 160kW and an all-electric range up to 53km*. The Superb iV allows for particularly sustainable mobility without compromising dynamism. Available in wagon as Style or Sportline variants, the Superb iV comes with all the Simply Clever design, safety and connectivity features as it’s petrol engine equivalents.

Make way for the Superb iV

Prepared for any situation

To commute to work in the city in silence and comfort, use the electric drive with a WLTP-verified range of up to 53km, which releases no emissions into the streets. For longer business trips, out-of-town excursions or holidays, you’ll appreciate the petrol engine and 50 litre tank with a range up to 930km.

Introducing the plug-in hybrid powertrain

The Škoda Superb iV’s bonnet conceals an advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain combining the best of electric and conventional cars for an eco-friendly yet dynamic drive. The drive system combining a petrol engine and electric motor delivers maximum system power of 160kW and torque of up to 400Nm.All of this with CO2 emissions between 28-30g/km.

Convenient charging

The Superb iV’s battery can be charged from the mains after connecting a charging cable. A flat battery can be recharged in approximately 5-7 hours with a standard 230V household plug socket. Another possibility is to recharge or maintain the level of charge in the battery while driving, using the petrol engine and brake energy recovery.

Room for everything important

Despite the installation of the battery in front of the rear axle, the Škoda Superb iV remains an impressive executive car with exquisite comfort for all passengers and a big luggage compartment. The 485 l boot capacity offers outstanding practicality and great utility, with easy access another given.

Brake energy regeneration

The Superb iV is fitted with brake engine regeneration that slows down the car when the brake pedal is depressed, and the accelerator is released, and stores the energy that has been recovered back in the vehicle battery. The regenerative braking intensity can be set at multiple levels.

Superb iV Connectivity

State-of-the-art infotainment systems

Take your pick of two next-generation state-of the-art infotainment systems. The Amundsen 8” touch screen infotainment system (standard in Style) and Columbus 9” colour touch screen infotainment system (standard in Sportline) comes with WLAN, 2 front USB ports and Bluetooth. The top-notch Columbus system adds 3D navigation, gesture control and customisable touchscreen.

SmartLink+ provides you with a connection between your smartphone and the in-built infotainment via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink™. Use the navigation system, play music and podcasts via your favourite apps or deal with your text messages and calls.

Wireless charging

The storage compartment in the centre console of the Superb iV enables wireless charging and wireless connection to Smartlink.

Amundsen

Amundsen navigation system is controlled via 8″ colour LCD touchscreen with resolution of 800×480 pixels. The display features proximity sensors: As soon as a finger comes near it, the system switches automatically to operating mode. Pinch–to–zoom functions familiar from smartphones make operation easy.

Columbus

Columbus navigation system is controlled via 9.2″ colour LCD touchscreen with resolution of 1280×640 pixels, and comes with a 64-GB flash memory.

Digital dash

A perfect overview is provided by the freely programmable optional digital dash – 10.25″ digital instrument cluster, which offers a choice of five display layouts.

On-board instrument data along with other information, such as navigation, media playback and phone, are displayed on a beautiful 10.25″ digital display.

Clever details

Electric child safety lock

Using the mechanical rear-door child safety lock requires foresight when you’re sometimes in the car with children, other times with adults. You can activate and deactivate the rear-door locks electronically from the driver’s seat whenever you need to.

Glasses compartment

A glasses compartment above the rear-view mirror can be used to store your sunglasses or reading glasses. They are protected from damage in their own dedicated pocket and you have the peace of mind that they will always at your fingertips.

Ticket holder

The smallest things are always the easiest to lose. Car park tickets for example. Luckily Škoda has the straightforward, practical, value for money solution. A Simply Clever ticket holder that clips neatly to the side of the windscreen within easy reach of the driver. Your tickets will remain safe and sound, in an obvious place, so you can reach for them when needed. They are also highly visible to anyone inspecting your ticket from outside the car.

Umbrella in door

The Škoda Superb iV has an umbrella compartment in the drivers front door, allowing for the storage of umbrellas in case you get caught in the rain. The compartment is water-resistant so wet umbrellas can be stored here. The water from the umbrellas is drained outside the car.

Boot

Boot nets (optional)

Thanks to the cleverly designed network of meshing, hooks and shelves in the boot, there is no need to compromise between agility and practicality. Boot nets with securing hooks prevent smaller items from moving around.

Removable ski bag (optional)

The ski bag is a useful accessory for your winter sporting adventures. It is a practical case protecting your skis from being scratched. Fastened with a seat belt, the bag stays in place even during sudden changes in the car’s movement.

Electric tailgate

The Škoda Superb iV’s tailgate can be optionally operated by pressing a button from the driver’s seat, with the remote-controlled key, by pressing a button on the tailgate or by pulling on the opened tailgate.

Storage

Jumbo box

The jumbo box is a practical storage compartment located in the adjustable armrest between the front seats, and is easily accessible by the driver and the co-driver.

1.5-litre bottle holder in front door

One of many ingenious bottle holders is conveniently located in the front doors.

1.5-litre bottle holders in rear doors

As well as a large space to store a water bottle in the front doors, there’s further capacity in the rear doors too, perfectly designed to hold a 1.5 litre bottle securely while not in use.

Smart technology

Driver safety

Front assist with predictive pedestrian protection

The front assist is a collision-alert safety system. Faced with an unavoidable collision, it applies the brakes to minimise the consequences. It also performs an emergency stop if a pedestrian dangerously attempts to cross the path of the car.

Side assist

Thanks to two radar sensors at the rear of the car, the side assist detects vehicles approaching from behind or that are in the car’s blind spot. You are informed of this using an LED signal on the inside of the wing mirror housings. Side assist can detect vehicles up to 70 m away and thus also effectively warns you of hazardous situations on motorways and dual carriageways.

Lane assist

The feature can tell when you stray from a lane unintentionally. The system is active at speeds above 65 km/h, on condition that there are recognisable lane markings on the road and the indicator has not been turned on prior to crossing a marking.

Adaptive cruise control

The adaptive cruise contol (ACC) maintains a safe distance from the vehicle ahead at a selected speed, controlling the engine and actuating the brakes to automatically accelerate or decelerate as needed. The mechanism combines the cruise control system with a radar-based distance controller.

Comfort technology

Park assist

The Superb iV Sportline has park assist that semi-automatically guides the car into perpendicular parking spaces (forwards and backwards), and in and out of parallel spots. The system assists you by automatically carrying out optimal steering wheel movements to park within the lines, you just have to accelerate and brake.

Park distance control with manoeuvre assist

The system warns of the potential risk of collision with obstacles during parking by drawing data from sensors, the driving parameters and the steering wheel angle. To avoid those parking situations where you don’t brake in time in response to the distance alerts, the Superb Scout incorporates manoeuvre assist, a feature that stops the car to avoid collision.

Rear-view camera with washer

When reverse gear is engaged, the camera in the tailgate is activated and the image is shown on the infotainment system display. Dynamic guide lines laid over the image show the direction in which the vehicle would go with the position of the steering wheel or indicate when it should be turned.

Rain & light assist

The Superb iV is fitted with a rain sensor to automatically activate and control the speed of the wipers. The light sensor activates the car’s lights automatically when the intensity of ambient light falls below a specified value (for example when driving through a tunnel or at dusk).

Front and rear parking sensors

Parking the Superb iV is easy due to its excellent manoeuvrability. What is more, you can be assisted by parking sensors integrated in the rear and front bumper, which check the car’s distance from any obstacles.

KESSY

Open or close the door, start or stop the engine, all without having to search for your key? That is the comfort provided by the optional KESSY system. Simply pull the door handle and the vehicle will unlock automatically. Start the car by pushing the button located to the right of the steering column.

Adaptive lights

Matrix headlights

Using a rear-view mirror camera that detects light sources from oncoming vehicles, the matrix function of the full LED headlights masks out the high beam light distribution around them in real time with individually switchable LED chips in each headlight. This results in a perfectly illuminated road ahead and greater safety.

Full LED matrix headlights

The high-end headlights for the Sportline use LEDs for all of their functions and, on top of that, the full beam features the cutting-edge matrix function. LED headlights in the Style incorporate diodes for dipped and full beam, the position light and daytime running lights.

Full LED tail lights with dynamic rear indicator

The full LED tail lights in the Sportline model incorporates diodes to play every role. Their specialities include a chrome-plated strip that runs the full width of the tailgate and an eye-catching dynamic rear indicator. LED tail lights, integrating diodes for the brake, tail and fog lights, are supplied with the Style.

Passive safety

Driver and passenger airbags

They protect the driver and the passenger from injury in case of impact.

Front side airbags

The front side airbags effectively protect the pelvis and chest of the driver and front passenger.

Rear side airbags

Rear side airbags protect the pelvis and chest of rear passengers.

Curtain airbags

Curtain airbags protect passengers from any impact to the side of the car.

Engines

1.4 TSI 160 kW 6-Speed DSG

Škoda’s PHEV system offers flexibility for those looking to go electric but with the versatility of a petrol engine to fall back on.

The official fuel consumption, emissions, and EV range figures determined by the WLTP test should be used as a guide only, or for vehicle to vehicle comparison. Actual results may vary due to factors such as driving or environmental conditions. For further information, please visit https://www.skoda.co.nz/owners/wltp

The Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) is designed to provide a standardised measurement and enables the consumer to make reliable comparisons between vehicles in terms of energy (fuel and/or electricity) consumption, emissions, and electric vehicle range. However, it should be noted that the results of this test may not accurately reflect the actual fuel consumption, emissions, or range that a driver might experience in the real world. Actual results may vary depending on various factors such as driving style, road conditions, temperature, weather, vehicle load, and maintenance. Therefore, the WLTP results should be considered as an indicator of the vehicle’s performance and not as a guarantee of the actual energy consumption, emissions, or range that a driver will experience in real-world driving conditions, or for making a vehicle-to-vehicle comparison. All WLTP test values are provided in accordance with New Zealand Land transport Rule: Vehicle Efficiency and Emissions Data 2022.
