Highlights of the all-new Kodiaq

Škoda Kodiaq design

Crisp, elegant lines combined with the distinctive light signature, black grained plastic features and up to 20″ wheels make the Kodiaq a robust yet dynamically looking and stylish car with a timeless design.

The aerodynamically optimised and stretched roofline, complemented by flat silver anodised roof rails, instantly catches the eye from the side. The tornado line running the length of the car adds to the Kodiaq’s dynamic appearance, while the highly sculpted car body running over the front and rear wheels to accentuate the wheel arches highlight its robustness. The stylish and powerful design is accentuated by up to 20″ wheels and elements made of grained black plastic – not only the angular wheel arches, but also door sills.

The Kodiaq’s rear section is visually widened by the traditional C-shaped tail lights. This component, together with the voluminous rear bumper with wide diffuser, gives the Kodiaq an aura of uniqueness. Optional dynamic indicators can be ordered.

Škoda Kodiaq interior

A big family or lots of friends? No problem. The Kodiaq offers not only ample interior space for up to seven occupants, but also state-of-the-art technology, endless connectivity options and a host of innovative solutions.

The driver’s space is dominated by a multifunction steering wheel, which is emblazoned with the new 2D Škoda logo in the middle, and comes with decorative elements in a unique dark matte chrome colour. The infotainment system’s free-standing modern touchscreen protrudes from the dashboard so that it is always at the driver’s fingertips. Now that the automatic gear selector has been repositioned by the steering wheel, the centre console has more space and a cleaner feel. Ambient lighting in the dashboard and door panels adds to the inviting mood of the interior.

The third row of seats* makes the Kodiaq an extremely practical car that can seat up to 7 occupants. They get to travel in maximum comfort and enjoy plenty of interior space. It goes without saying that Isofix anchor points feature on the second-row outboard seats and may also be found on the front passenger’s seat.
*7-seats not available in all models.

With the Kodiaq, there’ll be no more worries about having to leave anything behind. It’s simple – you can fit in everything you need. The luggage compartment accommodates 910 l in the basic five-seat configuration, rising to 2, 105 l when the rear seats are folded down. This makes the Kodiaq’s boot one of the largest in its class.

The optional head-up display is a handy assistant  on your journeys, projecting your current speed, navigation instructions and other information onto the windscreen. The 10″ Virtual Cockpit with five different layouts offers more detailed information and can be configured to display the data you choose.

The three rotary and pressable Smart Dials with a mini display in the middle, positioned beneath the infotainment system, are a nifty feature in the Kodiaq’s interior. Drivers can easily control the air-conditioning, volume, map zoom and numerous other functions with them.

The optional panoramic roof lights up the interior and enhances the feeling of airiness inside the car. It has two parts; the front part can be tilted or can slide backwards. For the maximum comfort of the Kodiaq’s occupants, the glass of the panoramic roof is tinted. As a result, the heat being transmitted into the interior is kept to a minimum and light penetration is maintained at a pleasant level.

Not only does the Kodiaq offer plenty of interior space for all passengers and a generous boot, but there’s also a wealth of stowage space inside for everything you want to keep close at hand on your travels. It goes without saying that there are also many Simply Clever features to make your everyday experience with the Kodiaq a real pleasure.

Every part of Kodiaq’s interior has been crafted with the utmost attention to quality workmanship and the use of premium materials, all with sustainability and conservation in mind. This is why, in the Selection TDI’s ecoSuite interior, the leather is tanned with leftovers from coffee bean production. In the optional Lounge Design Selection 40% natural wool has been used. All the textile parts in all interiors are made from 100% recycled polyester. The umbrella and ice scraper are also made from sustainable materials.

Škoda Kodiaq comfort

Besides its generous interior space, the Kodiaq offers a host of comfort features to pamper you on every drive. The massage seats and three-zone air-conditioning make sure you’ll never arrive at your destination feeling tired.

You’re always hot, your partner is always cold, and your children have an altogether different notion of the ideal temperature. This is no problem in the Kodiaq, because the three-zone air-conditioning makes it simple for everyone to set the temperature they prefer.

Enjoy your favourite tracks at the highest quality. The CANTON Sound System – which comes with thirteen speakers, a subwoofer adding dynamism to the entire system, a 16-channel amplifier and a digital equaliser – delivers 725 watts of total power to the interior.

Škoda Kodiaq safety

Timeless design and comfort are fantastic features, but what’s most important to us when travelling is the safety of ourselves and those around us. Up to 9 airbags, a range of advanced driver-assistance systems make the Kodiaq a safe car whatever the situation.

The Kodiaq is equipped with state-of-the-art driver-assistance systems that keep not only you and your passengers, but also pedestrians, cyclists and other road users, safe. You’ll rely on these systems both in busy city traffic and on the open road.

In the event of an accident, the occupants are protected by a sturdy body with generous crumple zones and up to 9 airbags, delivering finely-tuned interaction with three-point automatic seat belts and safety head restraints. Other safety features include modern electronic systems designed to mitigate the consequences of an accident, such as multi-collision braking and Crew Protect Assist front and rear.

Škoda Kodiaq technology

Don’t be coy when it comes to your new car. The Kodiaq is loaded with the latest technologies to make it a great companion on the road, off the road, and in more challenging terrain.

The Škoda Kodiaq offers efficient diesel and petrol four-cylinder engines available in several power outputs, always mated to a DSG automatic gearbox, front or all-wheel drive, and meeting the latest emission standards.

With its intelligent 4×4, this Škoda SUV is ready for every contingency. The Kodiaq is great at driving on unpaved roads and gravel. The four-wheel drive system with electronically controlled multi-plate clutch deals with the slightest change under the wheels in milliseconds.

Kodiaq features the option of the next-generation Dynamic Chassis Control Plus (DCC Plus) with Driving Mode Select. DCC Plus allows drivers to customise the vehicle’s handling to their personal preferences: Normal, Sport or Comfort – an à-la-carte chassis setup. The new generation offers faster shock absorber control and a wider range of damping characteristics, which you’ll notice in the form of improved driving dynamics and comfort.

Progressive steering combines dynamic car control – so that drivers don’t have to keep shuffling their hands around the steering wheel – with easy manoeuvring (in city traffic or when parking) at a larger angle of steering wheel roation.

Automated gear-changing is essential for ease of control. The 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission is mated to all engines, enabling smooth gear changed at lightning speed while keeping to low fuel consumption.

Boundless enthusiasm

A large SUV is rightly expected to be a vehicle of great prowess. The smart all-wheel drive, off-road mode, hill-descent control and high ground clearance pave the way for you to venture off the beaten track.

Ability to explore

When you drive off the asphalt, you don’t have to look for a place to park the car. With its generous ground clearance, intelligent 4×4 system, extremely rigid body and set of electronic assistants for driving off the beaten track, the new Kodiaq will take you that much further.

Intelligent all-wheel drive

With its intelligent 4×4, the Škoda’s SUV is equipped for every contingency. The new Kodiaq is great at driving on unpaved roads and gravel. The four-wheel drive system with electronically controlled multi-plate clutch deals with the slightest change under the wheels in milliseconds.

Off-road mode

The off-road mode button switches all assistance systems to a special setting for driving on unpaved surfaces. Once on, the accelerator responds less sensitively and the auto hold feature helps the vehicle out in tricky situations. Hill-descent control uses sensitive braking to maintain a constant speed when descending steep slopes.

Škoda Kodiaq SUV connectivity

The Kodiaq’s advanced connectivity will make everyday use of the car easier and provide you with all the support you need to make it to your destination in time and in comfort.

The Kodiaq offers two types of infotainment systems, the entry 10″ Škoda Infotainment and the top 13″ Škoda Navigation including display cleaner located in the middle console and Canton Sound System. Further features such as the head-up display can be added as part of optional packages.

SmartLink provides you with a connection between your smartphone and the in-built infotainment via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Play music, navigate, deal with your text messages and calls, or listen to your favourite podcast.

The Phone Box is a storage compartment used to charge mobile phones wirelessly. The Kodiaq features a Phone Box with wireless charging and cooling for two phones.

The Kodiaq is equipped as standard with four fast-charging USB-C ports (45 W) – two in the front and two in the back. There is a fifth USB-C port (15 W) in the rear-view mirror for charging a dash cam.

With Laura voice assistant, your car will be hanging on your every word to do your bidding. Curt orders are consigned to the past. Now you can control the car with Laura, an assistant who understands normal speech. Laura will help you control the navigation, media, infotainment, air-conditioning and text messages, while letting you concentrate better on the driving.

As smart as it looks

Clever details

Umbrella compartment

The Škoda Kodiaq has a compartment in both front doors, including an umbrella in the driver’s door, in case you get caught in the rain. An umbrella is also available as an accessories for the second compartment.

Integrated funnel in the lid of the windscreen washer tank

You can also find Simply Clever solutions under the bonnet. The Kodiaq features a cleverly designed rubber lid for the washer fluid tank. It opens into a practical funnel so you can easily top up the fluid without making a mess.

Electric child safety lock

Using the mechanical rear-door child safety lock requires foresight when you’re sometimes in the car with children, other times with adults. You can activate and deactivate the rear-door locks electronically from the driver’s seat whenever you need to.

Door-edge protection

The automatically deploying plastic door-edge protectors are one of the practical solutions to everyday life that will endear you to the Kodiaq. They are spring-loaded, so when the door is opened, the protector flips out to prevent minor scratches on your car and the vehicle next to you.

Smart technology

Electric tailgate with Virtual Pedal

The Škoda Kodiaq’s tailgate can be optionally operated by pressing a button from the driver’s seat, with the remote-controlled key, or by pressing a button on the tailgate. The car can be fitted with an optional Virtual Pedal for touchless tailgate opening/closing.

USB-C in the rear-view mirror

If you use a dash cam to record the traffic in front of you, you will appreciate the optional additional USB-C connector by the rear-view mirror. This means you will have a power source right by the camera and you will avoid those long cables all over the place.

Virtual Cockpit

A perfect overview is provided by the freely programmable Virtual Cockpit, which offers a choice of five display layouts. On-board instrument data along with other information, such as navigation, media playback and phone, are displayed on a beautiful 10.25″ screen.

Comfort features

KESSY

You no longer need to be holding your key in order to open and lock your car. The KESSY (Keyless Entry, Start and exit System) control unit recognises the key up to 1.5 metres away from the car. The vehicle unlocks automatically when the door handles or tailgate are operated. The engine starts at the push of a button.

Ambient lighting

Ambient lighting in the dashboard and front and rear doors is a great way of creating the perfect atmosphere in your car. In no time at all, you can transform your car’s interior to suit your mood and needs.

Heated steering wheel

On request, the Kodiaq can be equipped with a heated steering wheel, a godsend in the winter, especially when your hands are frozen from scraping the ice off the windows. Although, the heated windscreen means that’s actually another job less to do. And if you’re still cold, the heated front and rear seats will keep you toasty.

Armrest with two cup holders

The rear folding armrest not only makes travelling comfortable, but also incorporates a holder for two bottles, where backseat passengers can conveniently put their drinks.

Flexible boot

Cargo elements

In the typical Škoda style, the Kodiaq’s boot offers hugely practical features. Items can be secured in the boot using cargo fasteners. Just slide your boxes or shopping bags, for example, between the fasteners and they will no longer slide around. The cargo fasteners can be folded away and stored at the side of the boot or under the variable boot floor.

Double-sided boot liner

On one side, there’s a practical and easily washable surface, on the other, elegant textile carpeting. The mat can simply be turned over to provide a surface suited to the load.

Boot nets

Thanks to the cleverly designed network of meshing, hooks and shelves in the boot, there is no need to compromise between agility and practicality. The boot nets with securing hooks prevent smaller items from moving around.

Hooks in the boot

The great variability and use of the Kodiaq’s boot also benefits from two sturdy hooks on the sides. They are designed to hang items or baggage which would otherwise be unstable or would not fit on the boot floor.

Most advanced driver-assistance systems

Travel Assist

Travel Assist integrates several systems and functions. When they are interconnected, the car can make driving a lot easier and increase travelling comfort. Once activated, Travel Assist can automatically stop and restart, keep the car in lane, follow other vehicles in a traffic jam, or show the surrounding traffic on a display in front of you.

In versions fitted with 13″ Navigation, the new Predictive Cruise Control expands the Adaptive Cruise Control’s functions. Besides keeping track of the traffic ahead, it also processes recognised travel signs and speed limits stored in the navigation system. This enables it to adjust speed in good time, for example when it is approaching a bend, a roundabout, or a junction, or in response to speed limits.

A picture processing module searches scanned pictures for known traffic signs and compares the results with the navigation data. The system processes speed limit signs, no-overtaking signs, no-entry signs on one-way streets and any supplementary instructions, as well as associated restriction clearance signs, and then displays them to the driver.

This assist is designed to keep you in the centre of the lane. This system works in conjunction with a camera to recognise lane markings on the road, including yellow lines during roadworks, traffic cones, and other roadside or lane borders. The enhanced “Adaptive” variant (only available as part of Travel Assist) means that the system intervenes in an attempt to keep the vehicle in the selected track within the traffic lane, and the car does not ‘weave’.

Traffic Jam Assist makes it easier to drive a car in traffic jams. It draws on the Adaptive Cruise Control and Adaptive Lane Assist to start, brake and turn the car to copy the movement of surrounding vehicles in a traffic jam.

Emergency Assist reduces the risk of an incident if the driver is not feeling well. If Adaptive Lane Assist detects that the driver does not have hands on the steering wheel even after a warning alert, Emergency Assist is activated, decelerates the car to halt while keeping it in lane and activating the hazard warning lights. The horn and the interior lights are then automatically activated.

Easy parking

Intelligent Park Assist helps the driver to park the vehicle in a line of parallel-parked or a row of perpendicular-parked vehicles, and also to exit from such parking spots. The system controls the steering, braking and direction of travel (forwards or backwards). It also detects objects and pedestrians and avoids collisions with them.

The Park Distance Control warns of the potential risk of colliding with obstacles during parking by drawing data from the sensors, the driving parameters, and the steering wheel angle. To avoid those parking situations where you don’t brake in time in response to the distance alerts, the Kodiaq incorporates Manoeuvre Assist, a feature that stops the car to avoid collision.

This system prevents a collision with a person when reversing by analysing the area behind the car using the rear-view camera image and braking the car if a human figure is detected at a risky distance.

Providing you with comfort and orientation during a parking procedure, the rear-view camera uses a camera located on the tailgate handle. Working with the infotainment screen, the system shows the space behind the car and indicates dynamic guide lines, based on the vehicle width.

Want to know exactly what’s happening around the car? The Top View system shows, on an infotainment display, several different angles around the vehicles, captured with the wide-angle lenses of four cameras mounted at the front and rear and on the wing-mirror covers. A 360-degree panoramic view of the vehicle makes it easier to park or manoeuvre in narrow streets.

Safety assists

The Front Assist is a collision-alert safety system. Faced with an unavoidable collision, it applies the brakes to minimise the consequences. It also performs an emergency stop if a pedestrian or cyclist attempts to cross the path of the car. The system also registers pedestrians and cyclists travelling in the same direction as the car and, in relation to these road users, uses the same warning and braking process as that applied to vehicles ahead.

In a critical situation, where Front Assist intervenes by braking and the driver indicates they are taking evasive action by the way they move the steering wheel, Collision Avoidance Assist makes targeted interventions in the steering to help drive around the obstacle.

Turn Assist, supplied as part of Front Assist, is designed to monitor an oncoming vehicle when you are turning left (in a left-hand drive), for example when you are at a junction. If there is an immediate danger, it brings the vehicle to a complete standstill and triggers the warning signal.

This assist reacts to vehicles or cyclists approaching in a cross-direction, especially when pulling out onto a road where the view is obstructed by parked cars, fences, and other obstacles. In the event of imminent danger, the system triggers an acoustic and visual warning and activates emergency braking.

Thanks to two next-generation radar sensors at the rear of the car, the Side Assist detects vehicles approaching from behind or that are in the car’s blind spot. The driver is informed of this using an LED signal on the inside of the wing mirror housings. Side Assist can detect vehicles up to 90 m away and thus also effectively warns the driver of hazardous situations on motorways and dual carriageways.

This safety feature is another of Side Assist’s complementary functions. Exit Warning visually and acoustically warns the driver and other passengers, when, for example they are exiting parallel parked car, if opening the door could result in a collision with another vehicle, a cyclist, an electric scooter or a jogger. Exit Warning makes use of Side Assist’s rear radars and monitors area behind and along the sides of the car up to a distance of 35 m.

The system pre-tensions the front seatbelts in the event of imminent collision or in unstable driving situations and engages with the ESC to close the side windows almost fully in order to prevent foreign objects from entering the vehicle. The system works with the front and rear radars.

If a Kodiaq is involved in an accident and the airbags are activated, it could remain in motion and cause another accident, which is where Multi-Collision Brake comes in, bringing the vehicle to a standstill to prevent a pile-up.

This system monitors drivers’ behaviour and assesses how tired they are using inputs from various vehicle control units. At speeds above 70 km/h, the system detects deviations from normal driving and continuously assesses drivers’ driving behaviour in order to judge their current fitness to drive. If the system detects driver fatigue, a warning tone sounds and a warning message is also displayed in Virtual Cockpit.

LED lights

LED Matrix headlights

The headlights of the Škoda Kodiaq use LEDs for all of their functions. LED technologies’ many upsides include their longer life and the fact that they are less of a drain on power. Their hexagonal modules are complemented by CrystalliniumTM – this brand-new special feature evoking coloured crystalline glass brings a new flair of colour to the headlight. On top of that, the top of the range Kodiaq RS features a side light and the cutting-edge Matrix function.

Matrix function

Using a multifunction camera that detects light sources from oncoming vehicles, the Matrix function of the LED headlights masks out the light distribution around other vehicles or traffic signs in real time with individually switchable LED chips in each headlight. This results in a perfectly illuminated road ahead and greater safety. *Matrix headlights are standard in the Kodiaq RS and optional for other trim levels.

Passive safety

Driver and passenger airbags

They protect the driver and the passenger from injury in case of impact.

Driver's knee airbag

The driver’s knee airbag stops the driver’s knees from contacting the lower part of the dashboard in the event of a frontal impact.

Front side airbags

The front side airbags effectively protect the pelvis and chest of the driver and front passenger.

Rear side airbags

Rear side airbags protect the pelvis and chest of rear passengers.

Curtain airbags

Curtain airbags protect passengers from any impact to the side of the car.
